Our Soil and Rock Laboratory offers a full range of geotechnical testing services to support site investigation, foundation design, slope stability analysis, and material quality control. Soil Testing Services
We perform both basic and advanced laboratory tests on soil samples in accordance with ASTM, BS, and other international standards. Services include:
- Index Properties:
- Moisture content, Atterberg limits
- Specific gravity, particle size analysis (sieve & hydrometer)
- Strength Tests:
- Unconfined compression (UCS)
- Triaxial shear tests (UU, CU, CD)
- Direct shear tests
- Consolidation & Permeability:
- Oedometer (1D consolidation)
- Constant/falling head permeability tests
- Compaction & Classification:
- Standard/Modified Proctor
- Soil classification (USCS, AASHTO)
Rock Testing Services
Our laboratory is equipped to evaluate the physical and mechanical properties of intact rock and rock masses:
- Rock Strength Tests:
- Uniaxial compressive strength (UCS)
- Point load test
- Brazilian tensile strength
- Durability & Density:
- Slake durability
- Specific gravity and porosity
- Triaxial and Shear Testing (upon request)
- Advanced testing for rock mechanics and tunnel design
Field Sampling & Survey Support
In collaboration with our geotechnical survey team, we ensure proper sample collection, labeling, and transport from site to lab. Field services include:
- Borehole logging and core recovery
- Standard Penetration Test (SPT) and Cone Penetration Test (CPT)
- Rock Quality Designation (RQD) and core photography
- In-situ testing (e.g., field density, plate load test)
