PT. Oil Terminal Karimun is currently undertaking a comprehensive engineering project aimed at reviewing and assessing the structural integrity of the jetty facility located at the Karimun Site, specifically in Pasir Panjang, Meral Barat District, Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province. This initiative is part of OTK’s ongoing commitment to maintaining operational safety, structural reliability, and regulatory compliance across its critical infrastructure.

As an integral component of this project, OTK has formally engaged a third-party independent Consultant, PT Zekon Inti Rekayasa, to conduct an in-depth structural evaluation of the jetty. The Consultant is tasked with performing a series of specialized technical activities, including but not limited to on-site inspections, structural diagnostics, data collection and analysis, condition assessment, and engineering simulations. These activities are aimed at identifying any potential structural deficiencies, signs of material degradation, or loading vulnerabilities that may compromise the long-term serviceability of the jetty under both existing and projected operational loads.

The review process will be carried out in accordance with applicable national and international engineering standards and guidelines, such as those set forth by the American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), and relevant provisions of the Indonesian National Standards (SNI). The Consultant will also adopt a risk-based approach in evaluating the structural resilience and recommending appropriate corrective or preventive measures, including retrofitting or reinforcement strategies where necessary.

This collaboration with PT Zekon Inti Rekayasa underscores OTK’s proactive approach to infrastructure integrity management, ensuring the jetty remains structurally sound, operationally efficient, and aligned with future capacity demands. The findings and recommendations from this project will serve as a critical input for OTK’s strategic planning, asset management, and long-term investment in safe and sustainable terminal operations.
