Geotechnical Study for Safe and Efficient Mining Operations

PT Jembayan Muarabara Group (JMB Group) is a coal mining company located in Tenggarong Seberang, East Kalimantan, committed to implementing industry-leading practices in accordance with national regulations. In line with Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No. 26/2018 on the implementation of Good Mining Practice and Decree No. 1827 K/30/MEM/2018, which provides technical guidelines for such practices, geotechnical assessment has become a mandatory element to ensure that all mining activities are carried out responsibly, safely, and sustainably.

To support this commitment, JMB Group engages a qualified independent geotechnical consultant to conduct comprehensive studies on various mine pit and waste dump designs within its operational areas. This initiative aims to verify the geotechnical stability of mining zones, improve design integrity, and ensure that mining operations are aligned with JMB Group’s internal policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
